School Board Adds "Viking Matters" Page
Requests from community members for "more facts, faster" has led to a new informational resource on the RE-1 website.

"One of the points registered during all four of our recent Community Engagement sessions was the desire for more background information on School Board decisions," notes Board president Marsha Harris.
"Participants made it clear they're interested not only in the decisions we're making on their behalf, but the 'why' behind them. They understand that we're in very different economic times, and that we have to deal with those budgetary restraints.  They see what's happening in districts throughout Colorado, and even the nation. But they want to know what facts have led us to our choices.

"One of the most cost-effective ways we can communicate this information is through our website."

District residents can review decision-related documentation by visiting this "Viking Matters" link or the link on the navigation bar on the District's homepage.

Harris adds, "Using this channel to communicate with parents and others committed to quality education also reinforces the District's Technology Initiative.  It's important that our students see we practice what we teach."
